Lesson 018
What Should We Learn from This?
If there is one lesson this module should leave with us, it is this:
Language is alive.
Culture is alive.
Tradition is alive.
That is why Yoruba remains one of the richest languages in Africa.
Some words carry a meaning that is accepted almost everywhere.
Others may carry slightly different shades of meaning depending on where they are used.
That does not weaken our language.
It enriches it.
Perhaps instead of asking,
"Which community is correct?"
We should also ask,
"What can we learn from each community?"
That spirit of learning is what Yàrá Ìkẹ́kọ̀ọ́ is all about.
As we preserve Yoruba language, let us also preserve respect for one another.
