S1: Episode 3
The Name That Lingers
Omotola tried to act normal.
But the name stayed with her all day.
Aisha.
It lingered in her chest, quiet but heavy.
That evening, as she locked up her shop, she nearly walked straight into him downstairs.
“You left quickly this morning,” Tade said.
She adjusted her bag on her shoulder. “You were busy.”
“With who?”
She raised an eyebrow slightly. “You first.”
He held her gaze for a moment.
Then he sighed.
“My ex.”
The word hit harder than she expected.
“You’re still in contact?”
“She doesn’t know how to let go.”
Omotola folded her arms. “Or you don’t?”
He stepped closer, lowering his voice.
“There are things you don’t understand yet.”
Her pulse quickened, but she didn’t step back.
“Then make me understand.”
For a second, it felt like he would. Like he was about to say something real. Something vulnerable.
But before he could speak, headlights washed over them.
A black SUV pulled up beside the building.
The window rolled down slowly.
A woman sat inside.
Beautiful. Composed. Effortlessly elegant. Her eyes were sharp, observant.
She looked at Omotola first.
Then at Tade.
Her lips curved slightly.
“So this is why you moved.”
The air shifted.
And suddenly, the name didn’t just linger.
It arrived.
